Father’s Day Gift Idea: Gift Bag and Card Set

Mother’s Day just passed. We celebrated it in a special way by doing what we love to do as family: tent-camping, hiking, and doing out door fun activities. The next special day is the Father’s Day and it is about a month away! Can’t you believe that?

Picking a Father’s Day gift is a challenge every year 🙂 But it will make easier if you know a special thing that they love or what is their wish list. Our favorite gift is handmade gifts. My daughter and I love to make gifts as an expression our loves to the special person in our lives, our Papa. This year, I made a set of note cards and gift bag for him.

Here’s the card I made for him where the kids and I will write notes for him. I run a blue cardstock with the Darice stripe embossing folder through my diecutting machine to create the background mat. The triangle border, I die cut it using Taylored Expressions triangle die plate and silver glitter cardstock, and I cut it to fit as border.

For the sentiment, I stamped the sentiment from Joy Clair – Dad’s Day Clear Stamps on a white cardstock with Versafine Onyx Black Ink Pad, and die cut it with Our Daily Bread Designs – Pierced Circles Dies.

I added the triangle border with Glitter Glue Adhesive, then I wrapped around the twine, and added the sentiment circle with 3D foam tape on it. And I added the whole panel on the white card base with 3D foam tape.

I created a set of note cards as gift. I simply embossed the white cards with We Are Memory Keepers – Classic Embossing Strips. He loves stationary and write notes for special occasions. I put all the note cards and envelopes inside a gold white chevron paper gift bag.

I sealed the gift bag with the fun ribbon that I created with Joy Clair – Dad’s Day Clear stamps. It is very simple and quick to create it.

First, I stamped the ribbon image on a white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad using Mini MISTI stamping Toll. And then I color it with the ShinHan Touch Twin Markers. Then I fussy cut it with micro-tip scissors (or you can also cut it out with the svg cutting files that comes with every stamp set you get from Joy Clair website).

And it is done. Our gift ready to give it to the world’d greatest Papa ever on Father’s Day which we will be on our vacation trip in Indonesia later.
