Technique Blog Hop: Color Your World

Coloring Books are everywhere! Wherever we go, we see all kind of coloring books, even now they have travel pocket sizes and postcards/cards. How fun is that? I know I’ll love those coloring books and cards, and so do my daughters 🙂

During ths Summer Break, sometimes I spend my quite time in the morning to do some coloring. My daughters will often join me, too.

Today, I am joining blog hop that featuring some coloring techniques with a group of CTMH consultants. You should arrive from Michelle’s blog.

My project is simple. Inspired by those coloring books for adults, I made some bookmarks as a gift when I send out some happy mail 🙂

They are that ready to be colored with any coloring medium, like watercolor paint, watercolor pencils, markers, etc.

I have several coloring mediums. Among them, I have these coloring medium that are available at CTMH Store: Watercolor Paint, Watercolor Pencils and ShinHan™ Touch Twin™ Markers.

Watercolor Paint (Z3132)

Watercolor Pencils (3505)

ShinHan™ Touch Twin™ Markers

First I cut White Daisy Cardstock into 1.75″ x 5.25″ and Black Cardstock into 2″ x 5.5″ (this is for the base). Then on the White Daisy Cardstocks, I stamped the images from Ornate Blossoms stamp set using Archival ink.

After that, I added them on the Black Cardstock for extra sturdiness and thickness for coloring.

On today’s project, I use some of the ShinHan™ Touch Twin™ Markers.

I am inspired by the new Florance Paper Packet color combo. I simply colored each image with the markers and love the result!

I think I need to stamp these images on bigger size of cardstock just for fun coloring activity.

  1. Inspirational! I can’t pick a favorite bcause I like all mediums for different reasons and I love experimenting with different brands.

  2. So pretty! Thanks for sharing your bookmarks. Where did you get the great case for your pencils and markers? It even looks like a CTMH product, but I’ve never seen it.

  3. Hi there! Until recently, my favorite coloring medium was ink from my printer.. lol! I do everything digitally and print on high quality matte photo paper, which I then cut out with my silhouette. Lately I’ve been wanting to hand-color things, though. Problem is, I cannot seem to decide what medium I want to use. I considered watercolor, but everyone is doing that and I don’t like to go along with the crowd. I’ve considered liquid acrylics/acrylic inks, gouache, india inks, and oil pastels (among others). Every time I think I’ve made up my mind, I change it again..lol! Hopefully I can make a decision soon. I have to decide on just one of these mediums as I don’t have the resources to try them all (I wish! haha). Your piece is beautifully colored!!

    • 😀 Agree printer inks are great! I love print and cut with Silhouette too. So many coloring mediums out there Nd yup, we cannot have all of them. I love playing with acrylic paints too 🙂
      Thanks for visiting, Jeanne!
