This time I made a shaker, watercolored card:

My Monthy Hero August Kit - Shaker Watercolored Card by Helen Gullett

First I diecut the frame Fancy die set with my WRMK Evolution Advanced diecutting machine and watercolored it with Distress Mini Ink Pads. I set it aside to dry while working on the fairies and shaker.

I stamped the fairies with VersaFine Onyx Black ink pad and diecut them with the matching dies, and then watercolored them with Distress Mini Ink Pads also. Then I decided to add some sparkle and shine on their wings, clothes and hair using Wink Of Stella clear glitter brush… Oh love it! Now they are sparkly and shiny fairies 🙂

For the shaker, I diecut Bazzill vellum paper using the oval border die and then I stamped some of the ferns using Hero Arts green ink cubes. I used my craft heater to dry the stamped images.

Next, I added the vellum on the first diecut that I colored before with Tombow mono glue. Then I added 3d foam tape around the edge. I added some mixed sequins I had in stash that match the fairies and frame colors. Then I added the frame on the Wood grain cardstock.

I finished the card with some of the Pretty Pink Posh Droplets.

This month’s kit was inspired by “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and features a gorgeous forest fairy theme.

  23. Wow! I love the way you did on the shaker card! The fairies are so cute and whimsical! Love it! Hero Arts kit is a mixed of elegance and magical vibe! I love it and it is perfect for my card making projects. I’ve been sending letters to different part of the world and my letters will look so beautiful with the use of these stamps! The Shakespearean Poetry Stamp is one of the stamps that I liked the most because of poetry and words on it but I also like the Fairy Stamp and Dreams Are Made Stamp because they are very detailed! 26. Beautiful card so colourful! Definitely one of my favouritestuff in this Hero Arts Blog Hop! This kit is awesome!

  27. Spring has come to the fairyland. Reminds me that the mushrooms show up in a “fairy ring” after a rain. I love the birds in the trees. Very nice choice of colors.

  28. I just love how you used vellum on your project. I just made some vellum projects too and you can see them at http://afourthlife.blogspot.com. What I love about vellum is that it really adds a magical element to the cards. It is the mist in the mountains or the fog over the lake or just softens the whole look of a card. These sets are wonderful and as an ex-English teacher, it would be difficult to choose a favorite here. So much fun!

  29. I love the colors that you chose. Beautiful touch adding the vellum. Your work is inspiring – thanks for sharing with us!

  30. Oh, your card is so pleasing to the eye, Helen. I enjoy seeing the woodgrain background and the water coloring. Your card looks refreshing and is unique the way you made it. Good job!
