Thursday Coffee Break: Marble Coffee Mug CAS Cards

clc-coffee-break-logo-640x640

Hello everyone… I am so glad to be back here with you all! I hope you all have a blast and fun this Summer. Today I have a fun project to share with you when you take your Thursday Coffee Break at Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog.

My cards today are simple with die-cuts and I left them open for any occasion events. I started with a fun technique called marbling with shaving foam and re-inkers. You can watch the shaving cream full tutorial and video at Splictcoaststampers.

On this card, I use the Coffee Cup Silhouette Die and Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies from STAMPlorations. And the re-inkers are from Taylored Expressions.

First, I added the shaving cream on a paper plate and then added the re-inker randomly on top of the cream. Using a stick, I mix the cream and re-inkers like when I baked marble cake ūüôā

Next step, I added white cardstocks on top of the colored cream and gently I pushed it until the ink transferred to the cardstock. And using an old credit card, I scraped the shaving cream of the cardstock. And the marble is revealed under it. So cool!

As you can see, I got 2 different results. The first 3 on the top are from the first 3 times I dipped the cardstocks in. And the second 3 cards below are the ones I dipped in after I mixed all the colors. Check out the different look on each card:

I finished each card with some splatters of the Shimmer Spritz – Frost and Sparkle for extra shiny and sparkly on them.

With mixed media, I would say…you need to expect the unexpected results. You’ll be surprised with the result for sure.¬†So…my coffee loving friends, have you tried a new technique this Summer?

Thank you so much for taking a coffee break with me today and I hope you see you again next week. Have a fabulous Thursday!

Joy Clair August Challenge: Anything Goes

Hello everyone…I am back again with some mixed media cards. Getting back to create is not easy especially after being off for 2 months. All I need is inspiration…lots of inspirations!

Today I got my inspiration from the image and color combo from the Joy Clair – Anything Goes August Challenge. The theme for this month is Layers: layers of colors, layers of papers, layers of stamps, etc. But this is an option for you to play along. Any new projects you created are welcome.

And for the background, I created them with the Ink Spritzer Tutorial on Splitcoaststampers forum. It a new fun technique I tried when creating these cards. I used Distress Mini Ink Pads that I smooshed on craft mat, sprayed with some water and added the cardstock, a great way to create texture watercolored background. I am thinking to try this technique with different mediums for my future projects.

If you need more some inspirations to create projects this month, you are invited to come over and play along with Joy Clair -Anything Goes August Challenge. You have until August 30th. CAS Mixed Media Birthday Card

Hello everyone…I am back to my craft room after being away for 2 months! And today I have a CAS, Mixed Media Birthday Card to share with you.

I created this card with some dies and stamp. Pretty simple and quick to put it together. There is a fun simple tutorial using alcohol inks at Splitcoaststampers. You can check it out here. First I created couple panels using glossy photo papers (my stash) and Adirondack Alcohol Inks: Wild Plum, Eggplant, Stream. Then I die cut them with Balloons and Streamers Dies.

For the background, I used the Lattice Background Die and Pierced Rectangles Dies. For the sentiment panels, I used the Celebration Stamp set, Ovals Dies, and Stitched Ovals Dies.

I used Darice White cardstock, The PaperStudio heavy weight cream cardstock, CTMH purple cardstock, and ODBD Plum Pizzazz Paper Pad.

To finish my card, I embellished it with some yellow/white twine and white pearl gems.

Thank you for stopping over today! Have a great day!

STAMPlorations 4th Birthday Blog Hop Day 1 and Giveaway

Hello everyone… Happy Monday! This week I am joining the STAMPlorations team as guest designer to celebrate their 4th Birthday! And this birthday celebration last for the whole week with blog hops, link ups, and lots of prizes to win.

This blog hop today starts from STAMPlorations blog where you can see the full inspirations and informations on the Birthday Celebrations Hop and Wishlist Linky Party. To enter the giveaway, please continue reading…

Today I have you cards that I created using the new STAMPlorations stamp sets and CUTplorations. My first card I created with a shadow-die cutting technique using the Blossom Sprays #1 – Dee’s Artsy Impressions and Cheers Word Stamp & Die.

I stamped the blossom image with archival permanent ink on a watercolor paper, and before I colored them, I die-cut the word cheers and put the pieces a side.

I colored them with watercolor paint and die cut it again with a stitched rectangle die from my stash.

After the panel dried well, I added it on the black card base with adhesive runner, and then I added the cheers die-cut word with 3D foam tape for extra dimension on it.

And for my second, I created it using the new stamp sets: Bold Sentiments – Beautiful and Blossom Sprays #1 – Dee’s Artsy Impressions.

I also stamped the image on a watercolor paper with black archival ink pad, then I watercolored it with some watercolor paint. And I die-cut it with a pierced rectangle die from my stash. I added the panel on a white card base.

For the sentiment, I stamped it on a piece of vellum paper that I already cut it down to with just on top of the image. I used archival ink pad also. It took a while to let the ink dry, but if you are in hurry, after you stamp the image with archival ink, add some clear embossing powder on it and heat set it. Or you also can just dry it with craft heater, but need to be very careful to not heat it too long, the vellum paper can curl.

I added the vellum paper on the card with some vellum adhesive that dries clear. And I finished this card with some white pearl gems.

And now to the Birthday Celebration…
