It’s You Day

Hello everyone… March is here already. I am so looking forward to see more colorful Spring flowers everywhere 🙂 I hope you all are as excited as I am!

Today, I am joining STAMPlorations Theme & Sketch Challenge as their Guest Designer. This March Challenge theme is all about Stamp & Spring.

And here is the March sketch:

My card today is inspired by the March Theme and a bit of mixed media on it: watercolor pigment powder, stamping, colored pencils, archival ink, glitter and pearl gems.

First, I created the background with Color Burst powder and water. I added the pigment powder on my craft mat and spray with some water, then I smooshed the watercolor paper in it. I dried one layer at the time to create the depth of the the colors on top of each other. It is watercolor pigment powder so it always reacts with water. I also sprinkle some water on it and dabbed it of with paper towel for the extra dots texture on it. Then I run the panel through my die cutting machine with the the largest die from Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Die – CUTplorations.

This is my first time to try the no-line watercoloring 🙂 and I LOVE IT!!! I stamped the Lily flower from the Smile Stamp – Dee’s Artsy Impressions with Antique Linen Distress Ink and I colored them with Prismacolor Premier Colored Pencils. I blended the color with the Prismacolor Colorless Blender Pencil.

And then I added some glitter on the colored flowers with Spectrum Nior Sparkle Glitter Brush Pen to give them some shine… Oh I love to put it under the light and enjoy the glittery and shiny flowers 😀

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set with archival ink pad on a white cardstock stripe and cut the banner tail with non-stick micro-tip scissors.

Last step is to put them together on the card. First I added the watercolored and die cut panel on the card base with lots of glue 😀 Then I added the flower with some liquid glue. And then I added the sentiment banner on the card with 3D foam tape. And I finished my card with some pearl gems on it.

That’s my card today. I hope you all like it and be inspired to create Spring themed projects this season 🙂 THANKS A BUNCH for visiting me today and you all have a fabulous day weekend!
