Your Smile Lights Up The World

CUTplorations January Challenge

Hello every one… HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Another year has gone by and here we are today stepping into the new year of 2018. Our hope and prayer for you all thatThe Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever (Psalms 121:7-8).

Kicking of this new year, here’s the first new challenge inspiration for CUTplorations January Challenge. Isn’t this snowy scene beautiful?

Here’s my take on this month challenge. I create a CAS Mixed Media card inspired by the sky and snow:

CUTplorations January 2018 Challenge

The background I created by adding the Distress inks (Mustard Seed, Seedless Preserve, Black Soot, Faded Jeans, Dusty Concord) on a white cardstock using sponge applicator, then I sprayed with water and dabbed it off with paper towel. Then I added some white acrylic paint splatters with fan watercolor brush. I used craft heater to dry the panel and then I cut it with the largest die from Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies.

I stamped three of the houses from Houses stamp set by The Bee’s Knees with Memento Tuxedo Black ink pad, then I fussy cut them one by one. Then I added the 2 tall houses on the background panel dries clear liquid adhesive and the shorter house with 3D foam adhesive on the front.

Then using palette knife, I added the DecoArt Snow on the roofs, window and some at the bottom of the house for the snowy ground. This snow paste dries quickly.

For the sentiment, I stamped one of the phrases from Fond Expressions 2 stamp set by Shery Russ Designs with Mustard Seed Distress Ink on a white cardstock strip, cut the tail with micro-tip scissors, and I run it through my die cutting machine with one of the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies to match the stitching pattern on the top of the background panel.

I added the sentiment banner on the background panel with couple mini staples on it to hold it in place and as embellishment.

I added the finished panel on the white card base using permanent adhesive runner. And the card is done.
