On my cards today I used the new O Holy Night Phrase Die and Doodled Christmas Bells Cover Plate Die. They are gorgeous script font and cover plate for your Christmas projects for sure.

I choose to create a “Holy Night” scene #10 Size card. It is in 3 7/8″ x 9 1/4″ size card that fits in #10 envelope (letter size envelope) that you can easily find at any store. Also, this is not a bulky card, but has some layers so it is mail friendly.

On a piece of watercolor paper, I painted the night sky background using Sakura Koi Watercolor paints, Finetec Watercolor Gold Metallic Palette Paints, and white acrylic paints. I dried it with craft heater and trimmed it 1/4″ smaller that the card base. I added it on the card with adhesive glue.

I cut the O Holy Night Phrase Die with DCWV Metallic Gold cardstock and I added it on the card with adhesive glue.

Next, I cut out the Christmas Icon – Nativity Die with white cardstock, black cardstock, and metallic gold cardstok. I stacked the white cut out underneath the black cut out and overlapping them little bit so create the shadow look. And then, I cut out only the star from the gold cut out and add it on top of the black star. I added it on the card with adhesive glue.

On the second card, I go with simple style. I cut out a piece of American Craft Silver Cardstock using the Doodled Christmas Bells Cover Plate Die. I added it on the card with adhesive glue. But… I learned couple tricks with intricate die:

  • First, you can add the a double-side tape on the back of the cardstock first, and then cut it. So you will have the adhesive already on the back of the card. I use Silhouette America Sticker Adhesive and Ken Oliver Stick It.
  • Second, you can use spray adhesive on the die cuts. With this spray adhesive, you might end up with some extra glue residue on the side of die cuts, but they can be easily remove with glue eraser.
  • Third, you can use the Xyron Sticker Maker Max. This is easy to use.

For the sentiment, I used one of the sentiments from the Yuletide Deer Stamp Set. I stamped it on a white cardstock with VersaFine Tulip Red ink pad and then I trimmed it into sentiment banner. I added it on the card with 3D foam tape.

Before you go… there is a special Christmas Dies sale event from October 29 to November 12. All Christmas Dies are 10% off – no coupon needed.
