Mixed Media Art Journal | Shine Your Light

Graciellie Design

Hello everyone… This week we were learning about being salt and light at our church youth meetings. Though we might have read the message from Matthew 5:13-16 many times, read it one more time will give us more insight to what Jesus say about who we are, our identity, and our roles in community.

My mixed media art journal today is inspired by God’s word in the Gospel of Matthew 5:14-16, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

First, I added some watercolor paint on my Mixed Media page with watercolor paints, and I dried it with craft heater.

Next step, I added some paint splatters on the page with Heidi Swap Color Shine Spray and Marabu Art Spray. Dried it again with craft heater.

I used flat brush to add some of the brush strokes on the page with Deco Foil Liquid Adhesive, let it sit to dry in couple of minutes, and I added some of the Deco Foil Transfer Sheet Teal on it.

For the image and sentiment, I use the new digital stamps from Graciellie Design called Dreamy Girls Digital Stamp Kit and the little flower on her, is a little peek of a new digital kit releasing it soon!!!

I printed the girl image on regular copy paper, and printed the sentiments on mixed media paper 90 lbs. Next, I colored the girl with Primacolors Premium Pencils and Colorless Pencil. After that I fussy cut it with micro-tips scissors. I added it on the page with Dina Wakely Gel Medium.

I fussy cut the word Shine withmicro-tips scissors, and then I trimmed the words, Your & Light, with paper trimmer into 2 pieces. I added them on the page with gel medium. Next, I highlighted and added shades on them with Faber Castell Stamper’s Big Brush Pens.

I finished the page by adding more shadow around the page with the Stabilo Woody Black Pencil and smudged it with my finger.

Thank you for stopping by today… Don’t hide your light, let it shines bright wherever you go…

CAS Card ~ Black, White, and A Pop Of Color

Hello everyone… It is the day for having Thursday Coffee Break with me… I hope you all have been having a great week so far. Today, I have a CAS card with black, white, and a pop of color.

I am sharing this card and details at Coffee Loving Cardmakers blog. Coloring is one of the ways for me to calm down and relaxing. I love coloring with pre-printed images such as coloring book and also digital stamps using my favorite watercolored pencils and colored pencils.

Today, I have a CAS card that I created using one of the Power Poppy, Cup of Columbine. This digital stamp is also available in photopolymer clear stamp set just released this week called Cheerful Columbine.

I colored one of the flower with Leisure Arts Watercolored Pencils and using the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Clear Brush Pen. I love the sparkle on the flower and I wish it showed lots in the picture I took.

After I was done coloring the flower, I die cut the panel with Our Daily Bread Designs – Large Banner Diesand I added the banner on the black A2 card with dries-clear adhesive glue. The sentiment is from the Cheerful Columbine stamp set. I added the sentiment banner on top of the card with 3D foam tape.

I love working with digital stamps. They give me the freedom to resize the images to fit the projects I want to create. I hope you all also enjoy this post today.

THANK YOU so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Uniquely You Art Journal

Graciellie Design Digital Stamp

Hello everyone… Today I have a mixed media project to share with you. Spring colors and flowers are my inspirations when I created this Uniquely You Art Journal…though we have been having cold rainy days and possible snowy this week…

Uniquely You Art Journal Mixed Media Project Using Graciellie Design Digital Stamp

I am using the new digital stamp set, Uniquely You, from Graciellie Design that she released this month. With digital stamp, there are so many ways you can use and you have the freedom to resize the images to fit your project plan.

In the couple of days this week, I have been having fun learning some mixed media techniques and inspired by lots of crafty friends from The Stamp Nation – Mixed Media For Cardmakers Class. I apply one of them on my art journal.

So… I started my art journal page by adding some old music papers and scrapbook papers on the page with Gel Medium. I applied the Gel Medium on the page with foam brush, then added the papers, and added more Gel Medium on them to seal them in place. The Gel Medium will dry in few minutes, but to fast the drying process, I used craft heater.

Once the page is dried, I added some White Gesso on the page randomly with my finger, and then I dried it with craft heater.

I added the Catherine Pooler Inks (Party Dress, Fiesta Blue, Grass Skirt) randomly on the page and sprayed it with water. I tilted the book to mix the colors. I dried it with craft heater and also I used paper towel to pick up some extra colors on the page. After that, I sprayed again with water and dabbed it off with paper towel to get the extra texture on the page.

I created some tags also using the techniques I learned from the Stamp Nation class. And I used one of them on this page which is the one with paper collage on it. I did the same steps on the page to add colors on the tag. I used White Gesso to soften the look of the papers on background, then added the CP Grass Skirt ink on it and sprayed with water. I dried it with craft heater and then I added some shadow on the tag by drew lines around the tag with Brown Stamper Big Brush Pen and smudge the pen right away before it dried becuase this india ink dries permanently.

Next step is working with the digital stamps. I opened the flower and sentiment with image editing software. I printed them with inkjet printer on a white cardstock. To make sure the printed image dries, I heat set it with craft heater before coloring.

I colored the flowers with Prismacolors Premier Color Pencils and Colorless Blender. Then I used UniBall White Gel Pen to trace the stems in the middle of the flowers. I fussy cut each of them with micro-tip scissors. For the sentiment I cut it with one of the ODBD Pierced Squares Dies.

Now it is time to add them on the page! For this step, I used the Art Glitter Dries Clear Adhesive Glue for all the pieces. This is one of my favorite glue, strong, dries clear, and works on most materials.

I started with the tag. I tied some of the Natural Twine ribbon on the tag, I added one of the flower behind it and then I added them on the page with the adhesive glue. Then another flower behind the sentiment tag and then I added the slightly overlapping on the tag. Last, I adde the other flower on top of them. I added some shadow on the sentiment tag with Warm Grey Stamper Big Brush Pen and smudge it with finger.

The page is done. I love the result 🙂 I hope you all can enjoy it as much as I enjoy the time creating it. Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. Have a wonderful day!

I opened the images with Photoshop software and added the gradient colors on the stacked mugs. It was so much fun coloring them digitally. Then I resized them and printed them on a white cardstock. For the sentiment, I open them with the same software, resized and printed them on a white cardstock.

I cut the mugs with one of the Our Daily Bread Design – Squares Dies. And I trimmed the sentiment with the same wide.

I found some coordinating patterned papers from my paper scrap box that I used on the background. I added the paper with adhesive glue, and then I added the images and sentiments on the cards with 3D foam tape. And they are done 🙂

Encouragement Cards

Graciellie Design

Hello everyone… Today, I would love to share a couple of encouragement cards that I created using digital stamp set.

Graciellie Design God’s Grace Encouragement Cards

On these cards, I used the new digital stamp set from Graciellie Design. It is the God’s Grace digital stamp. I love the beautiful hand-drawn Gardenia flower and handlettered up-lifting sentiments. They are perfect for any encouragement paper-crafts and gifts for sure.

Graciellie Design God’s Grace Encouragement Cards

I created the floral background by resizing the flowers and arraging them to fit in 8.5 x 11 cardstock. I printed them on white cardstock. Then I trimmed them into 2 sizes of paper strips. I added them on the front of the cards with 3D foam tape.

Graciellie Design God’s Grace Encouragement Cards

I printed out the sentiments on white cardstock and cut them with ODBD Double Stitches Rectangles Dies. I also cut matching colored cardstocks with the same die sets as the sentiment mats.

I added the sentiment on the cards with dries-clear adhesive glue and I added some of the red and hot pink gems on each card to embellish it. Cards are done.

Creating with digital stamps is a way to mass-produce cards in a jiffy 🙂 I hope you enjoy this quick post today. Check out more of Gracie’s beautiful designs at her Etsy store.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today. I hope you all have a fabulous blessed day.
