DIY Painted Wood Burning Sign With Digital Stamp

Hello everyone… Spring is coming soon in 3 weeks… I hope… 😀 Today I have a tutorial how to create a Painted Wood Burning Sign using digital stamp set, freezer paper, and inkjet printer. I hope you all can enjoy this post!

The digital stamp I used today is the Graciellie Design – Happy Moments, the one of the new digital stamps at Gracie’s Etsy shop. Working with digital images give you some options to resize the images to meet your needs for your projects.

I am super happy to find out that I can transfer the image printed with inkjet printer with freezer paper! Thankful for those crafty people on YouTube 😀

So, I open the flowers in jar image from the Happy Moments stamp set with my Silhouette Studio Designer Edition. I resized it to fit my medium size Walnut Hollow wood slice.

I cut out a piece of freezer paper into 8.5″ x 11″ (letter size paper) and put it in the paper trey on my printer. Some image you need to reverse before printing, but this one, I can go with both reverse or as is. I printed the the image on the shine side of the paper.

You need to be very careful not to touch the printed image because it is wet.

You can plug the wood-burning tool now to pre-heat it while getting the image transfer to the wood.

I trimmed the paper smaller with scissors. I taped the image on the wood. Centered the image before you really put it on the wood.

The next step is transferring the image. You need a big spool or wooden spatula. Using the back of the wooden spoon, gently rub over the image. By lifting up the paper, you check underneath the paper to see if the image get transfered all or not yet. If the image not all transfered yet, you put the paper back, tape it, and rub again with the spoon.

Once you are happy with the image, you can start trace the transfer imaged with the tool. I like to use the fine point when tracing images on wood.

When the tracing is done, you can leave it as wood-buring sign or you can continue to paint it with acrylic paints like I did on mine 🙂

To paint this wood, I used FolkArt Multi-Surface Acrylic Paints, Matte Gel Medium, Fine Detail Paint Brush, and Foam brush.

First, I painted the flowers and jar. Then, I painted the background with teal color and then when the first layer is dry, I painted again with the white.

Last step, I traced the image again with my wood-burning tool on every spot that got some paint, just to make sure the burned lines look good 🙂

The sign is done. I hope you all can enjoy and be inspired to create with digital stamps! Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Life Is Much Better With Friends

Joy Clair

Hello everyone…. MARCH IS HERE! New month is here and I hope you all can have another fresh start… One of the things that I am thankful is friendship. This life is much better with friends… Don’t you agree?

Today we have a new challenge at Joy Clair Blog. It is Anything Goes challenge and here’s the inspiration photo for you 🙂

Joy Clair March Challenge - Anything Goes

Joy Clair March Challenge – Anything Goes

I made a clean-and-simple card that is inspired the colors from the image above. I used the one of the Joy Clair New Arrival stamp sets, called Best Buds. This stamp set is just super adorable!!!

Life Is Much Better With Friends - March Challenge

Making this card is super simple! First I stamped the image and sentiment using Mini MISTI using London Fog Memento Dew Drop Ink. I stamped them twice to get the solid and crisp result, and with MISTI, this can be done without errors or out of line.

Life Is Much Better With Friends - March Challenge

Next step is to color the bunnies. I keep my stamped cardstock on the Mini MISTI and have the bar magnet to hold it while I coloring it. It is pretty handy stamping tool!

Life Is Much Better With Friends - March Challenge

First I colored the bunnies with Grey Arteza Woodless Watercolor Pencil, and then I used Tombow Blender Brush Pen to blend in the color.

After that, I fussy cut the bunnies with micro-tip scissors and I used one of the ODBD Mini Labels Dies to cut the sentiment.

I used patterned papers from my stash as the background and the ribbon banners. I added the bunnies and sentiment on the card with 3D foam tape. Next, I added some soft pink sequins that I have in my stash to embellish the card.

Card is done! I hope you enjoy it and be inspired to play along with Joy Clair March Challenge. You can create any type of projects using any stamps you have, but if you have Joy Clair stamps, we would love to see how you use them 🙂 There is no limit to link up your projects as long as they are new and on separate blog or open gallery link. The more you link up, the more chance you have to win the $25 gift certificate to Joy Clair Store!!! For more inspirations, visit Joy Clair Blog!

And… one more… ALL MONTH LONG… Joy Clair team is collaborating with My Sweet Petunia team! Come over and join the party at their blogs during the month of March to see projects from both teams!!! You will have fun and be inspired!!!

Bible Journaling on Ephesians 1:11-14

Hello everyone… Happy Saturday! I hope you all have a fabulous week so far… Today I have a Bible Journaling on Ephesian 1:11-14 to share with you all.

Graciellie Design In Christ Alone Bible Journaling on Ephesians 1:11-14

In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.”

Ephesians 1:11-14

In these verses you can find the truth and confirmation that only in Him, of Him, and through Him we can find assurance of our salvation, inheritance in Christ and promises. No one else in this world can do that to us. Only GOD can. He does that only through Christ alone.

Our family lost 2 dear family relatives this month. We were sad but also at the same time we have hope and joy knowing that both of them lived their lives trusting and had their faith in Christ Jesus. We will miss them a lot!

My prayer for you today that you find confident, hope and faith in Christ alone. No matter in what situation or circumstance you are in right now, seek Him in His presence where you receive the blessings He has provided for you today. Praise Him in your situation for who He is and what He has done in your life in the past, for He is faithful God and God of hope. He can save you today!

Graciellie Design In Christ Alone Bible Journaling on Ephesians 1:11-14

To journal this truth in my journaling Bible today, I created a vellum insert using one of the new digital stamp from Graciellie Design. You can create any projects using this In Christ Alone Digital Stamp.

First, I open the flower file and sentiment file with Silhouette Studio Design Software on my computer. You can use all Graciellie Design digital stamps with any picture editing programs and even Word program.

On the Silhouette Studio, I drew a rectangle with the size of the journaling Bible page. Next, I copied and pasted the flower twice and positioned them at each corner of the page. Then I copied and pasted the phrase and positioned it in the middle of the page. I resized and moved them around to fit the page and once I was happy with it, I printed the design on a vellum paper using inkjet printer in black and white.

I let the printed page to dry over night. You can always use craft heater to dry the ink only the down side of this technique is that the paper is large and will wrinkle.

I then colored the flowers with ShinHan Touch Twin makers. And after the inks were dry, I sprinkled some white acrylic spray paint on it using fan brush for extra snowy look on it.

Graciellie Design In Christ Alone Bible Journaling on Ephesians 1:11-14

Once all mediums were dried well in few minutes, I trimmed it down using the rectangles lines as the guide. I added the vellum insert page on the Bible using ScorTape 1/8″ double-sided tape.

I hope you find this tutorial easy to follow and inspire you to keep journaling God’s words in creative way to express your love to Him.

THANK YOU so much for stopping by my blog today. May you have a blessed day!

Growing In Unity Day 4: Hot Cocoa Mixed Media One Layer Card

Hello everyone… I am back today as the Growing In Unity Girl. For the next 5 days, I will be sharing with you projects featuring stamps from the Unity Stamp Company. And for this Growing In Unity Day 4, I have a hot cocoa mixed media one layer card to share with you.

And if you have not yet seen the other projects, you can check them out: Unity GIU Day 1, Unity GIU Day 2, and Unity GIU Day 3. Don’t forget to leave comment on each day blog post to have chances to win the giveaway!

Growing In Unity Day 4: Hot Cocoa Mixed Media One Layer Card

I use Unity Kit Of The Month: January 2017 and October 2017 to create these one layer cards today. And the background die is from Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies – CUTplorations. Both Unity Stamp Company and STAMPlorations are Super Sponsors for the Coffee Lovers Winter 2017 Blog Hop.

First I cut the Arteza Watercolor paper 12″ x  9″ into 4 card background panels. Then, I stamped the hot cocoa cup and sentiment on those panels, with Versafine Onyx Black using Mini MISTI, such a great tool to do multiple stamping!

Growing In Unity Day 4: Hot Cocoa Mixed Media One Layer Card

I colored the edge of the cup with Arteza Real Brush. This brush pens can be use just as is, but also can use them as watercolor brush. One of my favorite coloring medium right now 🙂

Growing In Unity Day 4: Hot Cocoa Mixed Media One Layer Card

You can just use regular watercolor brush to pull the pigment out, but on my card, I used the Spectrum Noir Sparkle Brush Pen to pull out the pigment. This technique is fun for watercoloring, you’ll get a beautiful sparkly glittery watercolored image 🙂 Check it out:

Growing In Unity Day 4: Hot Cocoa Mixed Media One Layer Card

Then I squeezed some of the Snow Write On – texture paste on my craft mat and using the Pick Me Up tool, I added the snow texture paste on each of those marshmallow for puffy texture on them. This fake snow texture dries pretty quickly.

Growing In Unity Day 4: Hot Cocoa Mixed Media One Layer Card

You can stop here by adding the panels on card bases with strong glue and leave them as they are. And you will have a set of one layer sparkle cards. Or you can continue to the next step how I finished my cards.

Growing In Unity Day 4: Hot Cocoa Mixed Media One Layer Card

I added some watercolor splatters on the background using Blue My Mind Inklingz from Shimmerz Paints with fan watercolor brush.

When the watercolor splatters dried well, I run each panel through my diecutting machine with the largest die from Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies – CUTplorations. This die trim the panels into 4.25″ and 5.5″ front panels. I added them on card bases and tied them up with Blue Twine from Doodle Bugs – Christmas Twine Set.

Growing In Unity Day 3: Mixed Media Shaker Card

Hello everyone… I am back today as the Growing In Unity Girl. For the next 5 days, I will be sharing with you projects featuring stamps from the Unity Stamp Company. And for this Growing In Unity Day 3, I have a mixed media shaker card to share with you.

And if you have not yet seen the other projects, for the Growing in Unity Day 1, you can go here and for this Day 2, you can go here. Don’t forget to leave comment on each day blog post to have chances to win the giveaway!

Growing In Unity Day 3: Mixed Media Shaker Card

On my card today, I used the girl image from Dream of Being stamp set and sentiment is from the Kit Of The Month – October 2016.

First, I created the background with Color Burst – Turquoise Powder. I used smooshing technique for this. I dried the background with craft heater, then I sprayed with some water for extra texture, and  then I added some platters on it with Heidi Swap Color Shine Spray Citron and Pink. I dried it again with craft heater. I die cut the background panel with ODBD Pierced Rectangles Die. I added the panel on the white base card with liquid adhesive.

I created the square frame by cutting the largest ODBD Squares Die 4 times and stacked them together with liquid glue. I added a piece vellum paper on the frame.

I added some Christmas theme washi tape on the background panel. And then added some mix shaker filler on the pannel and then I added the frame on the panel.

{Growing in Unity} Girl Day 3

For the image, I stamped the girl on a white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and I colored it with Arteza Real Brush Pens: 2 shades of green for her sweater, and 2 shades of brown for her hair. I added some sparkle on her with Wink of Stella Glitter Brush pen. And I also added a hair bow on her using the Christmas theme twine from Doodle Bug.

{Growing in Unity} Girl Day 3

For the sentiment, I stamped it on a white cardstock using Peacock Feather Distress Ink that actually close match with the background color 🙂 I cut it into banner strip and added it on top of the shaker frame with liquid adhesive. I found a color burst watercolored paper strip in my mixed media stash box that left over from last project, I cut it out into banner and tucked it under the sentiment banner. And then I added the girl on it with liquid adhesive too.

I finished the card with some teal/turquoise sequins on it. And the mixed media shaker card is done 🙂 I hope these cards today inspire you to create with Unity Stamp Company today!
