DIY Give Thanks Layered Bookmark

Hello everyone… Fall has started here. Crisp air, cool weather and I start seeing some leaves are turning their colors already.

Today I have a Fall themed bookmark project to share with you all. This project, I also shared it at A Jillian Vance Design Blog. You also can see more inspirations from the team using AJVD products there.

First I die cut the bookmark from Minnie Pearl Bookmark Die set with watercolor paper twice and stacked them together for extra thickness.

On a piece of white cardstock, I sprinkle some of the Lime Colorburst powder, sprayed it to create the burst watercolored background, and when it was dry well, I die cut it out with the Quatrefoil Bookmark Overlay Die then added it on the bookmark with liquid adhesive. I also filled in some of the quatrefoil shape randomly to create the background of the bookmark.

Then I cut out one of the leaf from Leaves and Petals Die Set out of the watercolored background paper, and added it on the bookmark with same liquid adhesive.

Final step is I stamped the sentiment from Hello Fall 3×4 Stamp Set with Autumn Ombre ink pad on another watercolor background paper that I created. Then I die cut it out using the bookmark die, trimmed it wide enough to be on top of the leaf, and then added it on the bookmark with the adhesive.

Bookmark is done. Even though it has some layers, but it is still thin enough to put in a book. Also, the layers makes it thick enough as chipboard.

Thank you so much for visiting today!

No-Stamping Cards In 2 Ways and A Sketch

Hello everyone…Thank Goodness is Friday 🙂 I hope you all have a fabulous week so far. Today I have 2 cards with no-stamping in 2 ways.

I sometimes like to make a bunch of cards just with die cuts, no stamping at all. I cut out all the pieces several time all at once and then have them ready for cardmaking project at anytime. I am sharing this project at A Jillian Vance Designs blog today.

I fall in love with these die sets I used on these cards. The faux stitches give the petals and edge die cut some texture.

First, I added the polka dots patterned papers on 2 white card bases that I created from 8.5″ x 11″ – 110 lbs white heavy weight cardstock. I cut the stripes patterned paper with the Elegant Stitched Dot Edge Dies. I put the top die cut on one card, and the bottom die cut on the other one with adhesive. The patterned papers and cardstocks I used on this card are retired products from Close To My Heart that I have in my stash.

I cut out the flowers from Pop up Petals Die Set with matching yellow and navy blue cardstocks. I used small round tool, I curled up the petals of each flower. Then I added them on the card with some liquid adhesive and 3D foam tape. And then I die cut the Grateful {DIE}alogue Word Die out of heavy white cardstock 4 times. Then then I stacked 2 die cuts to create thicker word diecut. I added each of them on each card, overlapping with the big flower with 3D foam tape.

With one sketch, you can create 2 cards, only with flip or twist it around 🙂 I hope you all are inspired with these cards today. Thank you for stopping by and hope you all a fabulous weekend!

Give Thanks Hoop Card – Stamping On Fabric

Hello everyone… There is always something in our lives to give thanks to God with a grateful heart. And today, I have a Fall/Thanksgiving project I would love to share with you all.

Since when I was at Elementary school, I love cross-stitching and hand embroidery. It’s been a while I have not done that actually. My card today is inspired by it and Fall leaves colors, for sure. Not too long ago, I saw a tutorial video on YouTube about stamping on fabric for a mixed media project, but then I thought I need to try it with the hoop die set I have. And… I found a fat quarter plain fabric in my sewing drawer to use for this project. So Perfect! 😀

First, I traced the circle using the hoop die from the Hoop It Up Die Set with pencil. Then I stamped the sentiment from Autumn Blessings Stamp Set with Memento Luxe Tuxedo Black ink pad. Using my mini craft iron, I heat set the ink to dry permanently.

And then I cut the fabric along the inside tracing circle.

I think next time, I want to really do some embroidery with this stamp set! 🙂

I die cut the hoop 6 times to create a thick chipboard look. Using liquid glue I stacked 3 of them together, then I added the fabric, and then stacked another 3 on top of it.

For the leaves, I stamped the leaves from the Autumn Blessings Stamp Set with Autumn Ombre Ink Pad several times, and then I fussy cut them with scissors.

I added the hoop on the card with liquid adhesive, then I arranged the leaves on it, glued them with liquid adhesive and I added some 3D foam tape under some of the leaves that sticking out of the hoop for extra support.

I finished this card with some natural twine ribbon and some of the beautiful Electric Orange Prism Sequins. I also use liquid adhesive to add them on the card. I am so very thankful that I have a creative God who created this world that is full with so many inspirations for us to create and to express our love to Him and others through our handmade projects.

I also share this project at A Jillian Vance Design Blog. Hopefully, you all enjoy this card today. Thank you so much for stopping by. Have fabulous blessed day!

Bible Journaling: Gracious Word Will Sweeten Your Soul

Hello everyone…Today I have a Bible journaling page to share with you all. I am inspired by the truth in the book of Proverbs 16:23-24.

When we fill hearts with God’s words and truth that have set us free and gaining wisdom, we will speak out gracious words that will sweeten every soul. They are like a honeycomb. That is the truth. We can bless and uplift others with your words that come out of our mouth, or otherwise.

On my page today, I am using the Bee Kind – Color by Faith Stamp Set with Gelatos, Stamper’s Big Brush Pens and Sparkle Glitter Pen. Please visit Joy Clair Blog to see the full process tutorial how I created this page.

My bible is so bulky and pretty bumpy with all the embellishments that I used on pages, so I added a piece acetate and fun foam that I cut out to use as mat and stamping mat to put under that Bible page. I also added a piece of craft mat that I cut out to fit for Bible journaling. You don’t have to do this step if you have a flat enough surface for stamping. I skip this mats when I work on my new journaling Bible.

When I was done, I cleaned all my stamps using Joy Clair Stamp Cleaner and wiped them off with baby wipes.

I hope this page will encourage our to continue bless others with sweet words and for you to continue to spend your time with the LORD through Bible journaling. You also can find more details inspirations from the Design team at:

Watercolor Block Stamping: Be-Leaf In Yourself

Hello everyone… We are almost in the middle of August. Lots of Fall/Autumn theme stuff are out already. Can’t you believe that? So…let’s enjoy the rest of the Summer no matter what!

Today I have couple of Fall/Autumn themed cards that I created using a fun techniques called Watercolor Block Stamping and Inlaid Diecutting. I tried the stamping with block before and love the texture and effect on the results. But on these cards, I tried the technique from Jennifer McGuire that I watched on YouTube.

I added the Distress Inks directly on the stamping block and spray with some water. Then stamped it on a piece of watercolor paper.

On the video she also showed how to get extra splatter by tapping the block while the watercolor paint still wet. I did that and love the distressed/splatter look on the edges of the rectangle. I also added some splatters on the panel.

When the panel was dry, I run it through my die cutting machine to cut out the leaves using A Jillian Vance Designs – Grand Leaf Trio Die Set. And I also cut out the panels with Rectangles Die Set.

I stamped the sentiment from A Jillian Vance Design – Be Leaf In Yourself stamp set with Versafine Onyx Black and Mini MISTI.

To put the card together, I added them on the card with some adhesive runner. For the leaves, I used the inlaid diecutting technique using 3D foam tape for extra dimension.

Here’s another one I made with the same technique.

May these cards inspire you to jump into Fall/Autumn themed projects. And… I also sharing these cards at A Jillian Vance Designs blog today, hope you all can visit me there 🙂

Thank You so much for stopping by here today. Hope you all have a fabulous blessed day!
