Die-cutting, Embossing and Watercoloring with Distress Crayons: Hello Friend

We have been having rain a couple of days every week. The part of the Ohio River in our area is getting full. But we hope to have more sunshine this coming week. I still love Spring in Ohio.

I found couple quotes about rain and rainbow that I love:

So, today’s card is a simple and clean with super colorful and rainbow-y background, inspired by the rain and rainbow quotes and the Inspiration Nation 2016 – Day 3 mood board at the Stamp Nation.

On this card, I used the stamp, die & texture embossing folder from Sizzix Tim Holtz Alterations – Coffee Time.

I embossed a piece of CTMH Watercolor Paper using the embossing folder set. Then I scribble some of the Tim Holtz® Distress Crayons Set 1 (Bright Colors) on my craft mat and sprayed from water. I used paintbrush to mixed the crayons and water until they mixed well and no more chunks, I dipped the embossed watercolor paper on the crayon inks.

I set it aside to dry. While it was dying, I stamped the cup and sentiment with Vintage Photo Distress Ink Pad, then I cut it with the matching dies. When the background paper dried well, I added it on the card base using adhesive runner.

And then, I cut a strip of vellum paper and added it on the card with Tombow Vellum Adhesive runner. Final step, I added the cup and sentiment on the vellum with 3D foam tape.

The card is done. I love working with kits, and this stamp, die and embossing folder set is a great set to create projects, especially if you love coffee theme projects 😀

Thank you so much for visiting me today and I hope you all enjoy this card, too! HAVE A FABULOUS DAY!

  1. Hi Helen! I always looked forward to my spring trip to Ohio to see my family, because everything was in bloom there when it was still winter in NY. I love your rainbow embossed coffee card! Aren’t those distress crayons so much fun? I am so glad you joined us in this week’s challenge at Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge! Maura
