“We always pray for you, and we give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ”
Colossians 1:3
First of all, we would like to thank God for all of you who always support us in friendship, prayers, finances, and with encouraging e-mails. We are so grateful that God brought all of you in our life. Thank you for being our supporters.
Secondly, we would like to thank God for giving us a great time visiting Dave’s brother and his family in North Carolina (Oct 8-10). Also, we are so thankful to God that we could attend the wedding of our friends, Fletch & Amy in Raleigh, NC (Oct 9).
Dave and Helen were able to go to Cincinnati, OH to celebrate Dave’s Birthday (Oct 15) and went to a concert of a Christian Band. We were so thankful for Dave’s Mom and Grandma who were willing to be with Abigail while we were away.
We were able to attend Explore Wycliffe in Akron, OH (Nov 6) and we are ready to move forward with our application process. We spent the rest of the weekend visiting friends in nearby Ashland, OH.
We would like to thank God for his love, mercy, blessings, health and provisions in our life. God always show his wonderful mercy and faithful to us and to our family here in the States and in Indonesia.
This year, Abigail had a wonderful time at her first “Trick-or-Treat”, going house to house with her friends collecting candies. She dressed up as a princess, however, she didn’t recognized her friends and gave weird looks to everybody. She was nervous when we approached a house, but then she wanted to walk down the street by herself. It was so cold when the sun went down but she didn’t want to quit. She had her first candy which was colored red (because it was strawberry) and that gave her the “crazy” and “wild” reaction. Then the next day, we dressed her again to go to see her grandmother and great grandmother.
So thankful to our friends, Josh & Jayme, who invited us to bring Abigail that night. and took some of her pictures. We all had a great time of fun together.
Our praise to God that Abigail is growing healthy. Her curiosity drives her to learn more and more pretty much everything she sees, hears, smells, or touches. She is developing and improving her ability to communicate in English, Spanish and Indonesian. Now, she likes to play pretending with her dolls, throwing and kicking ball, and loves making animal sounds. Will she likes the snow? We’ll see what she thinks about it.
The Next Steps To Take
Helen’s green card renewal process:
We will start the paperwork in January 2011. We have to apply for the renewal in 90 days before the expiration date on April 22, 2011.
Please pray that the getting all documents, paperwork, and the process will be done in time and smooth.
Pray that God will show us favor through the USCIS personnel.
Pray for the financial needs for this matter.
Wycliffe Membership Process:
After attending Explore Wycliffe, our next step is starting the membership applications. We will start that paperwork in the Spring 2011, after Helen receives her green card renewal. And then we hope and pray that we will be ready to do our long-term mission ministry with Wycliffe Bible Translators in 2012.
Please pray for wisdom in doing the paperwork together and God’s clear guidance for us in the process.
Pray for God’s help and continue open the way for us to develop partnership with churches and people that God will lead us to the divine meeting with people who will support us for the long term.
Please pray for our spiritually and physically preparation as a family in serving God in missions work.
Discovery Team Leader Training:
Dave and Helen are now registered at Wycliffe eLearning for Discovery Team Leader Training. We are about to begin this program online.
Please pray for wisdom in managing our time to do the training, wisdom to learn and have good communication and interaction with the trainers using internet.
Please pray that we are able to cover all the materials and need to be completed by January 25th, 2011.
Thank you so much for praying for us and support us in many ways!
