Hello everyone… Mother’s Day is a special day when we can celebrate a special MOM in our lives. It is one of my favorite days! I like making handmade card and gift and I have a Mother’s Day Card and Gift Bag to share with you today.
I am joining the Joy Clair team for their Special Mother’s Day Event where the design team sharing their projects for moms.
I created a matching card and gift bag with Joy Clair clear stamps, VersaFine Clair Ink Pads, and Leisure Arts Watercolor Colored Pencils. They are easy to make for sure…You can make these for your special Mom/Grandma or even girl friends to show them some love through handmade gifts.
So… Let’s get started!
First, let’s make the card. It is a clean and simple card with stamping and watercoloring.
I choose one corner of the watercolor paper to stamped the flower from Bandana Bits stamp set with VersaFine Clair Charming Pink ink pad. It is a pigment ink, very juicy! So, before coloring I dried the stamped images with Craft Heater.
After that, I colored all the flowers with the Leisure Arts Watercolor Colored Pencils at the middle of the flower, and then using watercolor brush with some water, I pulled the pigment to color all the petals. You can see, with this way, you can get the ombre look on the flowers. I dried them with Craft Heater, too.
And then I added the some watercolor splatters on the card by flicking the pigment directly from the pencil with watercolor brush. And dried it again with craft heater… Oh I tell you… I am loving this new Watercolor Pencils!
I trimmed this watercolored panel to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and added it on a white card with dries-clear adhesive glue.
Next step is stamping the sentiment. I arranged the sentiment phrases from Hello Sentiments stamp set on the card, and I picked them up with the Mini MISTI lid and stamped it with VersaFine Nocturne ink pad. Love the bold sentiment I get from couple stamping.
I finished the card with some pink sequins on it.
For the matching bag, it is simple. I used mini muslin bag for this. Make sure you have a piece of cardstock or cardboard inserted inside the bag to prevent the ink get transferred to the other side of the bag.
I put the bag on a fun foam that I used as stamping pad. Then I stamped the flowers from Bandana Bits stamp set with VersaFine Charming Pink on it. Pigment inks works well on fabric, too!
Look at how crisp and pretty those flowers on the bag! I will make more gift bags in the future 😀
That’s my Mother’s Day projects to share with you today. I hope you all are inspired and get some ideas for handmade gifts. For more inspirations, head over to Joy Clair blog to see the design team projects!
