Under God’s Mighty Hands

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. To him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen. (1 Peter 5:6-11)

These are the truth, great reminder and practical instruction of how we, as Jesus’ followers and believers, should live out our lives. And God’s promise of deliverance when we submit to Him and His Lordship and mighty hands.

Humble ourselves. Why? The answer is simple. It is because we are just human, made out of dust. We are nothing out of Him. I am nothing without Jesus. I thought I could do things then I failed. Often I forget that He is the one that I need be He has created me and to do what He has called me to do as a wife to my husband, a mother to my daughters, a daughter to my parents, a sister to my younger sisters, a friend to my friends, or just to be someone out there to those who are in need.

Humbling myself under God’s mighty hand is not as easy as I read in it in the Bible. Real life example, happened many times, was when I carried all my problem and worried to much. The moment I took my anxieties on myself, that very moment, I put God aside. Nothing I gained by being worry and carry every load on my on.

Jesus invites everyone who has burden to come to Him and He ask us to give Him our own burdens. How’s that for a help comes from the Lord? This kind of help we cannot find in this world.

God’s mighty hands are there for us. We just need to humble ourselves.

Humbling ourselves under His mighty hands leads to victorious life. That’s the promise in 1 Peter 5:7-11. When He has given His promises, He won’t let it fail (Isaiah 55:11).

So… would you humble yourself under His mighty hand today?

My prayer for us today that The Holy Spirit will help us and give us the desire in our hearts to enter His presence with humble hearts and seeking Him to have intimate fellowship with the Father.

Five Minute Friday: Close

Five Minute Friday

Close. That’s the prompt word for this week Five Minute Friday hosted by Lisa-Jo Baker. She is one amazing God’s woman who encourages a lot of women to write something using the prompt word every Friday she provided. Just write in 5 minutes and you will be surprise what will flow out of your heart. Check out this week link ups on Lisa-Jo’s blog and be encouraged!

Start.

I have been missing the moment to be close with my parents. Be close to them in person. Honestly, after being away from them for over 6 years, I am still have the need to be close with them. Though I am thankful for Skype where we can chat and see each other. But it is just different.

This is not a choice. Not a decision to make.

But I am here with my husband and 2 daughters. God provides wonderful families and friends.

After 6 years, I learned different meaning for “close.”

Close it doesn’t have to be in person.

Close it doesn’t have mean distance.

Close means though they are far, but they are always there in my heart and mind.

Close means I can see through my faith that God is in there.

Close means dependence on His presence.

Close means being with Him.

Stop.

Greater Joy

This is not a coincidence that this week prompt for Five Minute Friday is JOY.

Five Minute Friday

This is not JOY…. It is the greater JOY I ever had in my life with Jesus that I have almost the whole Bible in my heart language! I can read it online, at any time, any where.

I admit that I am crying with tears of joy while writing this post. This is the joy I want to share with everyone. This is the joy that I want those who have not yet have the Bible to have too. This is why my husband and I want to go and share this joy with them. We want to go to let them know that God is alive. God cares. God speaks in language they understands. God wants them to know Him and to love Him.

In God’s word we find the true joy in the midst of craziness of life. In God’s word alone we find the answers of this life. Through reading God’s word, we hear Him speaking to us.

But they won’t have it if they do not have the Bible.

For 12 years my walk with God, I read the Bible in Indonesian and English. My husband went to my hometown in 2007 as part of his short mission trip with Wycliffe (at that time we were not dating yet) and when he came back to Jakarta to see me, he brought back a book of Acts and the story of Joseph in Manadonese. That was my very first time read God’s word in my heart language.

And then in 2012, the director of Bible Translation in Manado, sent me 5 partial books of the Bible in Manadonese and 3 other languages that in one cluster. I REJOICED!

Last night, I got an email from the director and she gave the link to the Gospel of God in Manadonese Online! I am leaping with joy to know that we now have access to God’s Word in our heart language, Manadonese! We have the website to read it now and waiting for the printed one to be done soon!!!!

Once Again Have Faith

As Jesus was saying this, the leader of a synagogue came and knelt before him. “My daugther has just died,” he said, “but you can bring her back to life again if you just come and lay your hand on her.” So Jesus and his disciples got up and went with him.

Just then a woman who had suffered for twelve years with constant bleeding came up behind him. She touched the fringe of his robe,  for she thought, “If I can just touch his robe, I will be healed.” Jesus turned around, and when he saw her he said,  “Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well.”  And the woman was healed at that moment.

When Jesus arrived at the official’s home, he saw the noisy crowd and heard the funeral music.  “Get out!”  he told them.  “The girl isn’t dead; she’s only asleep.”  But the crowd laughed at him.  After the crowd was put outside, however, Jesus went in and took the girl by the hand, and she stood up!  The report of this miracle swept through the entire countryside.

After Jesus left the girl’s home, two blind men followed along behind him, shouting, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” They went right into the house where he was staying, and Jesus asked them,  “Do you believe I can make you see?” “Yes, Lord,” they told him, “we do.” Then he touched their eyes and said,  “Because of your faith, it will happen.” Then their eyes were opened, and they could see! Jesus sternly warned them, “Don’t tell anyone about this.” But instead, they went out and spread his fame all over the region. When they left, a demon-possessed man who couldn’t speak was brought to Jesus.  So Jesus cast out the demon, and then the man began to speak. The crowds were amazed. “Nothing like this has ever happened in Israel!” they exclaimed. But the Pharisees said, “He can cast out demons because he is empowered by the prince of demons.” (Matthew 9:18-34, NLT)

3 miracles Jesus did in 1 day! Amazing and encouraging at the same time knowing that our God is the God who is able to do the impossible. Jesus acts upon the faith of someone who believes in Him.
Those miracles happened because there was faith, the active faith. The woman, the official and the 2 blind men were acting out of their faith because the believe what God could do the impossible for them. It was because they trust in the works Jesus had done among the people in the past showing that He came from God. He is God. It was because they were longing for the Messiah, the Promised One from God.
But those who do not believe, won’t ever see the miracle, the works of Jesus in their life, just like the Pharisees.
So who are we? Are we the believers who have the faith in Jesus who is sent by God and God’s Son, given the power and authority to reign in the heaven and on earth, the Ruler and the King of kings? Or are we a group of people who claim knowing God but do not have the faith that pleases God?
Once again God reminds me of the important part of faith in my life that activate God’s power and the one that please His heart only. Once again He reminds me that his grace is enough and his desire to see His children to the the live He has planned for each of us. All so that the world will see His glory and He will be glorified among the nations.
Once again God show us His faithfulness endures forever.

Why Worries

I have been worry in the last month. I am worry about our health, financial situations, and it’s getting closer to our plan to go but our ministry budget is not there yet. Adding to that, in the last 4 days I am worry about my grandma, who is 90 years old, unbeliever, was admitted to the hospital 3 days ago and not going good. My family took her home yesterday but still not showing any good improvement. I am so worry and sad that we would not be able to go and see her for the last time maybe. These things are just adding and adding up to my mind and heart, and cause me not to have enough sleep at nights.

My worries are taking over me, my heart, my mind, my focus, and even my faith. I start to doubt and fear of the future. My worries cause a lot “What If” questions in my mind.

Because of being worry, I forgot of my God, how big He is, how awesome his awesomeness and how faithful He is.
Because of being worry, I forgot that my God is the God of impossible.

My God can perform signs of wonder. My God can save. My God can!

Jesus asks a question in Matthew 6:27, “Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?” the answer is NO. Worries cannot add any single moment to your life. God can. Jesus says that seeking the Kingdom of God above all else and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need. So we don’t have to be worry about tomorrow (Matthew 6:33-34). And John reminds us in 1 John 5:14-15 that when we know that God hears and answers whatever we ask that pleases Him, we have confidence in God. Whatever we ask that will please God’s heart and bring glory to His only name, He will give what we ask for.

Isn’t that awesome and wonderful promises we have in God? Yes, He will work it out in our lives and show us His wonderful glory.

If you ever wonder about God and his faithfulness, then don’t. Have faith and confidence in Christ Jesus, then you will meet God, the Father. He will fill you with His Holy Spirit when you trust and believe in Him. God is God. No one like Him.

Today, let’s we stand and worship God in awe and wonder!
