Gift Card Holder With 3 Pockets

This is the season of giving with a joyful heart. There are so many ways we can give to bless others.

A week ago, my friend ask me if I could help her with making a gift card holder that can holds 3 cards. To Pinterest I went look for some inspirations 🙂 I saw many giftcard holders for 1 or 2. But I also saw some tag pockets that I thought… Hmmm… I can make big enough for the gift cards with similar idea.

These gift card pockets made using WRMK Envelope Punch Board. On the punch board, there are sizes for any sizes of envelopes, including 2 sizes of gift card envelopes. I made 3 – 2.5″ x 3.5″ envelopes, but instead of having a flap to close the envelope, I cut it to make the pockets. I used Heavy Weight Holiday Colors Cardstock from the Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby).

The front card, I used STAMPlorations stamp set, Framed Christmas: Peace, Love, Joy. On a piece of Strathmore Watercolor Paper, I stamped the image & sentiment using Archival Black Exclusice Ink Pad (CTMH), then watercolored the poinsettia using Sakura Koi Watercolor using Aquash Watercolor Brushes.

I started with lighter color, then added more colors on the areas where the shadows are for some dimension. You can let it air-dry but I used my Craft Heater for speedy drying process. And I finished the card with red ribbon and tie it up a bow. I used some double-sided tape to hold the bow in place.

That’s my finished card that inspired by one of the STAMPlorations Inspiration Project #52 and I think this gift card holder will make a perfect of giving gift cards for coffee lover, right? 😄

Sending A Good Cheer

Christmas season is the season when we can send someone a good cheer. I know for sure that this will bless them and brings joy to them.

Today I am sharing a Christmas card using STAMPlorations stamp set and Paper Smooches.

Sending A Good Cheer by Helen Gullett | Blog at http://helengullett.com/?p=8043 | #handmadecard #cardmaking #christmascard #stamplorations #holidayclh

I created a triangle stencil and coffee cups from a Post It notes and used it to create that tree of cups and hearts from STAMPLorations – Sketchy Coffee Cups stamp set 🙂

First I added the Post It stencil (or mask) on a 3.25″ x 5.5″ White Cardstock, make sure it sits in the middle of the cardstock and then I stamped them using CTMH Exclusive Inksâ„¢ Stamp Pads: Cotton Candy, Honey, Pear, Lagoon and Gypsy.

I stamped the sentiment from Paper Smooches – Christmas Sampler stamp set using Pear Exclusive Inks Pad as the tree trunk.

When the images dried completely, I put the tree stencil/mask again and added some sparkle and shine on it using Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush. I generously brushed the glitter all over and look at that sparkle!! 😀

I finished the card by adding some small gold sequins I got from Hobby Lobby and a star wood chip from Frackled Fawn on top of the tree. Then final step is to add the finished panel on the card base where I had some American Crafts Glitter Ribbon on the sides. I used some thin 3D foam tape.

So that is my finished glitter and sparkle tree of cups of good cheer to share with you today.

Merry and Bright: Recycled, Glittered Christmas Card

I found a cute sample card on Martha Stewart magazine. I love the cooper leaves border and I thought it can be recycled of throwing it away 😀

Merry & Bright: A Recycled Christmas Card by Helen Gullett | Blog at http://wp.me/p1DmW0-25K | #handmadecard #christmascard #diecutting #watercoloring #recycling #cardmaking #justnick #silhouettecameo

I cut a piece of DCWV Glitter Cardstock Matstack that match the border color and glued on top of the commercial in the middle of it.

Then I cut the Merry & Bright from Holiday Sentiments cutting file from JustNick out of Canson watercolor paper, then added some mint color from Pearlescent paint, let it dry and then added on the glitter cardstock. While drying the paint, I accidentally blew the dot for letter i, so I replaced it with a clear gem 😀

Last step is add the finished panel on the card base. And it’s done.

I love how we can be creative by turning a commercial card into a handmade card. It’s a way to recycle.

Today’s card I link up at Virginia’s View Challenge #21 – All About Glitter. This is her last challenge this year and she will take a break. You can read more about it on her blog post. I know many cardmakers love her challenge. I hope you’ll join her last challenge this year and have fun!

Also, I join Muse: ChristmasVisions 31. The Muse this week is from Kimberly Wiener:

A Giftcard Holder on A Card

A happy mail arrived today from Neat and Tangled that I ordered on Black Friday. And I just cannot wait to make something with the Box – Nice and Neat Die. This die is fresh out of the padded envelope and straight to my Evolution Advanced diecutting machine 🙂

I diecut the box out of Kraft cardstock and it is very easy to put it together (and fun!) Danielle showed how to create the box in a video here.

The background papers are from Old Hymnal Book and one of CTMH retired Christmas paper packet, Sparkle and Shine. I added some Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress ink on the edges. I finished the card with wrapping it with White Ribbon Twine from American Crafts and a Star wood chip from Frackled Fawn.

A simple card for a joyful giving this Christmas.

So, do you give giftcards or prefer actual gift for Christmas?

Thanks for visiting today and have wonderful day!
