Untraditional Valentine’s Day Card

Welcome to our February Joyful Stars Blog Hop. If you are here from Nickie’s blog, then you are on the right track. But if you are here first, then you can continue hopping through my fellow CTMH consultants’ blogs to see their projects. The blog hop starts from Joyce’s blog where you also can see the complete list of this month blog hop participants just in case you got lost in the middle.

This month, we are celebrating Valentine’s day, so I made a Valentine’s card.

An Untraditional, Masculine Valentine's Card | by Helen Gullett | www.helengullett.com

I say this is an untraditional Valentine’s day card ๐Ÿ™‚ This card I made for my husband pre-Valentine’s day, though I wanna give him a love note.

This card I made using one of CTMH Cut Above collections, Happy Birthday Card Kit. Yes, a birthday card kit turn into a valentine’s day card. This Cut Above kits are amazing! I can make any cards in a zap! All pre-cut, comes with embellishments and foam adhesive. All you need is the sentiment stamp, ink pads, and adhesive runner.

For the sentiment, I used one of the new M-size stamps, Sweeter With You. For all M-size stamps you’ll need 2″ x 2″ My Acrylix Block. I added the stamp on the block and I stamped it with using Pacifica Exclusive Ink Pad.

Set aside the stamped sentiment, I assembled the pre-cut paper strips and added some stitching using the Stitch Guide. You’ll also need the Foam Mat to use with the Stitch Guide. Pretty handy tools. I love them!

On one of the Designer Creations Ruby Paper Bags, I added some Sequins Gold Assorment and Snowhaven complements. I added a paper doily and gold tread using Liquid Glass. And finished it up with a staples on the flap using the new Mini Stapler. Love how this turn out!

What I like from these Close To My Heart Workshop On The Go Kits that these kits make all projects easy, quick and save money, too!

Autumn Is Here!

Autumn is here! Cooler air is always feeling better! This season always takes me to the beautiful of the colors. Just gorgeous when we look out to the nature and how those leaves change their color uniquely

JoyfulStarsBlogHopBadge1_stephanie

Today I join Joyful Stars Blog Hop, it is a group of Close To My Heart consultants blog hop. We create projects using CTMH products. And I would love to share one of the card I made inspired by the beautiful colors of Autumn.

2014-09-09-joyful-stars-1

For this card I used Pathfinding WOTG Scrapbooking Kit.ย The card base I used White Daisy cardstock. For the sentimen tag, I used 3D foam tape for giving some dimension to it.

2014-09-09-joyful-stars-2

I stamped those leaves multiple times usingย Goldrush Ink Pad, Autumn Terracotta Ink Pad, and Olive Ink Pad. Then I used my Non-Stick Micro-Tip Scissors to cut them and used glue pen to add them on the card.

I just like this kit that we not only can create scrapbook layouts, but also cards from the left over ๐Ÿ˜‰

This time I would like to share with you one layer card sets I made for my recent project for a women blogging conference, Declare Conference in August 2014. One layer card is a simple technique yet pretty way to create cards that you need in a short time. I have made 7 sets (5 cards a set) and still have to make 18 sets more!

My first card is I create the background with Frame Flairย using Black Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad. Using Topiary and Honey Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad, I stamped the flowers that from one of the Hostess Rewards stamp set, Enjoy the Little Things, this stamp you can only get special with your hostess rewards from hosting a home gathering (click here for detail). And the sentiment is from Beautiful Friendshipย  that I stamped it with Gypsy Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad.

The next 3 cards I create them using Kraft Cardstock. I stamped the corner doily from Beautiful Friendshipย and embossed them with White Embossing Powder and heated them with my Craft Heater. The sentiments are from Beautiful Friendship,ย Joyful Birthday and The Happy Couple. I stamped them with Black from Basics Exclusive Inks Mini Pigment Pad.
