Helen G. Designs Stencils | New Release Blog Hop and Giveaway

Hello hello hello everyone… Today… I have a very exciting and happy news to share with you all…

My new line of stencils – Helen G. Designs – goes live today at STAMPlorations store today!!! YES… you read it correctly! I am designing stencils and Shery is offering me an a spot at her store. I am overwhelmed with joy and grateful. Here’s a little story about what drives me to start designing:

Designing has been something I’ve been dreaming of doing since I was at middle school when I started with dress sketches. I never thought that this designing dream would come through now. This idea of designing stencils was started with my love for mixed media projects when I joined STAMPlorations team. I love using stencils to create some backgrounds for my projects so I started to make my own. I sketched some shapes on my table using one of the sketch apps, and then I turned them into some stencils that I cut with my electronic cutting machine. I am still at learning stage of designing but I love doing it! I hope that through this opportunity, I can keep learning, growing, and continue designing more.

All of my designs are inspired by drawings that you can do with pencil or makers on projects. The sky is the limit to use these 6 stencils and with them creating backgrounds will be easier!!!

Hope you will like them and enjoy to create with them. Thank you so much for your supports and love. I cannot wait to see your projects!”

To celebrate this new release, STAMPlorations Girls have created projects with the stencils for the new release blog hop. I also have some projects to share with you all…

First project is this art journal. I used the Make Marks 1 ARTplorations Stencil, Make Marks 6 ARTplorations Stencil, Happy Flowers ARTplorations Stencil, Say It Big Bloom Stamp Set, Art Marks Stamp Set, and Mixed Media Elements Stamp Set.

In the video, all of those prints are printed with all of my 6 stencils, gelli plate, and acrylic paints. I used some of them on these 2 cards and others saved for future projects.

On this card, I use Make Marks 2 ARTplorations Stencil, Make Marks 5 ARTplorations Stencil, For The Birds Stamp Set, and For The Birds CUTplorations Dies.

And on this card, I used the Make Marks 2 ARTplorations Stencil, Make Marks 4 ARTplorations Stencil, Make Marks 5 ARTplorations Stencil, Make Marks 6 ARTplorations Stencil, and Healing Herbs Stamp Set.

On this card, I use the Make Marks 3 ARTplorations Stencil and Blossom Overture Stamp Set.

Technique I used to create the background is called monoprinting with stencil or other will call it stamping with stencil using watercolor paint. After the background dried, I stenciled the x on top of it with Archival black ink and blending brush.

Spring Fling Day 12 | Recycled Mixed Media Tags

Hello everyone.. Birds and flowers are couple of the things that I love about Spring season. And they are the inspirations for these recycled mixed media tags today.

Have you checked the STAMPlorations Spring Fling Blog Hops? Today is the Day 12 Spring Fling Blog Hop! There are so many amazing Spring themed projects from the STAMPlorations Girls in the last 12 days. You will love them, too! And… more to it… there are PRIZE to win on each day, make sure to check and leave comment on each day blog post and the girls’ blog posts.

Here’s my first mixed media tag that I created using the Wooded Stamp Set, Hello Coffee Stamp Set, Tag O’Coffee CUTplorations Dies, Dots All Over ARTplorations Stencil.

When you receive an order from STAMPlorations, Shery always encloses a thank you card inside the package. I always keep those cards becuase they are fabulous. And today, I use one of those cards for one of the tags.

I applied a layer of white gesso on the card with brush. While I set it aside to dry, I stamped one of the flowers from the Hello Coffee Stamp Set on a coffee filter with Jet Black Archival Ink and I dried it with craft heater.

Then, I added the stamped coffee filter on the card with gel medium, dried it with craft heater, and I cut it with the tag die from Tag O’Coffee CUTplorations Dies using my Gemini Junior.

I added some colors on the tag with Gelato and water brush. I dried it again with craft heater. I applied some Gold paste on the tag using the Dots All Over ARTplorations Stencil and mini rubber spatula.

I stamped one of the brach from the Wooded Stamp Set using Coffee Archival Ink. I stamped it with second generation technique to get the light shadow-y image on the tag.

I stamped the bird, brach and cups with archival ink pads on watercolor paper, and then I colored them with Arteza Woodless Watercolor pencils and water brush. Then, I dried them with craft heater and fussy cut them with micro-tip scissors. I added them on the tag with Dries-Clear Adhesive Glue.

I stamped the sentiment with Green Leaf Archival Ink on a white cardstock, trimmed it into banner shape, and then I run it through the die cutting machine to add the stitching embossed using the same tag die on the edge of the sentiment banner. I added it on the tag with 3D foam tape.

Here’s my second mixed media tag that I created using the Always Tea Time Stamp Set, Dots All Over ARTplorations Stencil, Forest of Leaves ARTplorations Stencil, and Stitched Tags Nesting CUTplorations Dies.

For this tag, I recycled the k-cups cardboard box. I used gel medium to add the gift wrapping tissue paper on the cardboard. I leave the wrinkle in for extra texture. I dried it with craft heater. I cut it with one of the Stitched Tags Nesting CUTplorations Dies.

I added some white gesso on the tag with brush and when it is almost dried, I removed some of the gesso using the Forest of Leaves ARTplorations Stencil and baby wipe.

I added some dots in the tag using the Dots All Over ARTplorations Stencil, Jet Black Archival Ink, and blending brush.

I added a very thin layer of gel medium on the tag, let it dried until it felt tacky, then I added the Gold Foil Sheet on the tag. I used bone folder to added the gold foil.

I had some watercolored panels with green, lime and yello color that I created in the past with Catherine Pooler Inks and water.

I stamped the tea cups from Always Tea Time Stamp Set with Jet Black Archival Ink, and I fussy cut them with micro-tip scissors. I stacked them and added on the tag with Dries-Clear Adhesive Glue. After that I added some white splatters on the tag using brush with white acrylic paint and water.

I stamped the sentiment on a white cardstock using the same black ink pad, trimmed it into a banner, and I added it on the tag with 3D foam tape in the middle and adhesive glue for both edges.

I Like You A Latte Mixed Media Tag

Hello everyone… Still feeling the love in the air, today I have a mixed media tag for all coffee lovers…

For tag, I use smooshing technique to create the watercolor wash background using Catherine Pooler Ink Pads (Pixie Dust and It’s A Girl) on a watercolor paper. After that, I dried the paper and then cut it with the tag die from Tag O’Coffee CUTplorations Set.

I added the Dots ‘n Beans ARTplorations Stencil on the tag, and then added some White Titanium acrylic paint on the tag with make up sponge. I dried the tag with craft heater.

On another watercolor paper, I smooshed some more the Be Mine Catherine Pooler ink and water on the paper. Dried it with craft heater and then I stamped the heart beans image from the A Cuppa Love Stamp Set using Tulip Red VersaFine Clair Ink Pad. I fussy cut it with scissors and I added it on the tag with Art Glitter Dries Clear Adhesive Glue.

On a white cardstock, I stampe the cup from the same stamp set with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink Pad and colored the heart with Arteza Woodless Watercolor Pencils and water brush. I fussy cut it too with scissors and I added it on the tag with Art Glitter Dries Clear Adhesive Glue.

For the sentiment, I stamped it on a grey cardstock with Nocturne VersaFine Clair Ink Pad and trimmed it into banner. I added it on the tag with 3D foam tape. I embellished the tag with some sequins from my stash.

A Watercolored Card and A Mixed Media Tag

Hello hello hello crafting friends… Today, I have a card and a tag to share with you all.

Sometimes, I need extra boost to my crafting mojo and joining some challenges help me to get that boost. If you like me, here are couple of challenges that you might wanna try and play along.

My first project is a card that I created inspired by the January CUTplorations Challenge from STAMPlorations where I got my inspiration from the colors and fashion model on their challenge image.

On my card, I use the CityGirl Stamp Set that I stamped with VersaFine Onyx Black ink pad on a mixed media paper and colored it with Catherine Pooler Ink Pads and waterbrush. I dried the watercolor paint on it with craft heater and then I fussy cut it.

For the background, I use the Hearts All Over ARTplorations Stencil and using make oval brush to add the Catherine Pooler Inks on it. After that, I sprinkled some water and dabbed it off with paper towel for distress look.

And then randomly I stamped on of the image from the Mixed Media Grunge Stamp Set with Twilight Catherine Pooler Ink Pad on it. I trimmed the background panel into 4” x 5 1/4” and added it on a white card with permanent adhesive.

I added the girl on the card with 3D foam tape. For the sentiment, I cut a black cardstock using the Just Becuase Phrase Die and then I added it on the card with permanent adhesive glue.

I embellishe the card with some sequins from my stash

And the second project is a mixed media tag that I created inspired by the January Mixed Media Challenge.

I cut out a piece of 140 lbs watercolor paper using one the large size of the Luggage Tags Nesting Dies. And then I started building up the background using the Evolution ARTplorations Stencil and added thin layer of grey acrylic paint using make up sponge.

Next, I sprayed randomly and lightly light blue Marabu Art Spray and then sprinkled some of the lime green and teal Marabu Art Spray paints on it with fan brush.

I added thin layer of clear gesso on the tag cover the whole using my finger, and then dried it with craft heater. I added some of the Melon Metallic Gelato around the tag edge and blended it in with some water and finger.

I added some glitter texture paste on the tag with Rag Rug ARTplorations Stencil and dried it with craft heater.

I cut out couple of the Bloomdala Bliss Festive flowers with peach cardstock and teal metallic cardstock. I added the peach flower on the tag with gel medium and then added the metallic teal flower on top of it with permanent adhesive glue. I just added the glue in the middle of the flower and let the petals pop up loosely.

I stamped one of the sentiments from the Sweet Spring Wishes Stamp Set on a white cardstock, trimmed it into word blocks, and then I added it on top of the flower with 3D foam tape for extra dimension.

Final step, randomly I stamped the script from the Mixed Media Elements Stamp Set with Twilight Catherine Pooler Ink Pad. I dried it with craft heater.

I hope these 2 projects today will give you some inspirations to create something. THANK YOU so much for stopping by my blog today!
