5 Minutes Monday

Today I have something excited to share with you. But first, Thank You for spending your 5 minutes to read and pray with me today for the Unreached and Bibleless People Groups.

Our Focus UPG today is Penghulu People. They are about 30,000 people live in this area in Sumatra Island.

Their language is a mixture of the Minangkabau language and the Jambi Malay language, widely spoken by every one, every day. They don’t have one verse of God’s word in their language. The largest religion is Islam. Though in general the Penghulu are Muslims, they still cling to traditional animistic beliefs for everyday life. They believe that strong spirits inhabit sacred sites. Some are still in the habit of giving offerings to appease the spirits. Many people seek help from the shaman for daily needs like treating the sick or casting out evil spirits.

Would you join me today to pray for them?

  • Ask for God to send His workers to this people, to reach them strategically.
  • Ask that doors will be open for translation work to give them access to God’s word.
  • Ask God’s Kingdom will be there, His will be done for this people as it is done in Heaven.
  • Ask God to show you how you can be part of His works for this people.

And here’s the exciting news!

One of Wycliffe’s partner organizations, The Seed Company, released a new Devotional e-Book, Joy In All Circumstances. It’s a beautiful devotional designed to both encourage the reader and prompt them to pray for the Bibleless People Group.

Bible Translation Day

Today is the Bible Translation Day.

It is all began in 1966. When Uncle Cam, Wycliffe Founder, for the first time he shared the idea with Oklahoma Senator Fred Harris, his friend of several years.

“September 30 is St. Jerome’s Day,” Cam said. “He’s the first translator of the whole Bible. I thought maybe we could get the House and Senate to pass a resolution calling for the president to proclaim September 30 as Bible Translation Day.”

Harris liked the idea and agreed to propose the resolution in the Senate. Soon Cam received word that the resolution passed! On September 30, 1966, a ceremony was held to proclaim that day as Bible Translation Day.

In the years since Cam first started Wycliffe, 518 language groups have received the entire Bible and 1,275 have the New Testament in the language they understand best. Additionally, over 1,500 Bible translation projects are currently in process.

Today, Wycliffe continues to carry on the tradition of celebrating Bible Translation Day. With unwavering focus towards the unfinished task at hand, Wycliffe seeks to pursue the goal that Cam so eloquently laid out in his speech—that of bring the translated Word of God into every language that still needs it.

Do you wanna know why Bible Translations? Here’s why:

This is why we do what we do, this is why we want to go. So that these people will have the Word, their lives will be transformed by the power of God’s word and they will worship the only one true God in Jesus’ name.

Let’s End It Now!

On August 19th morning before we flew back to Ohio, we were invited to share about Bible Translation and the needs with the Elementary students of Canyon Creek Christian Academy, Richardson, TX. We were honored to share with them about the vision, the Bibleless people’s needs, how they can be part of this mission work and prayed together with them and the teachers at their Morning Assembly Meeting.

And Couple of days ago I got a text from my friend, Stefanie. She sent us this picture from one of the class from their Lower School Mission Project 2013-2014. The 3rd Grade students and teacher adopt us as their mission project! They pray for the country, for the people group we will be living with and for us, too. How amazing is that? We are thankful, humbled, honored and blessed.

I bring praise to Him only! Our God is the unlimited God. He is resourceful. He also can use school students to bring the Gospel to those who don’t have any verse in the language they understand best.

These people group in Southeast Asia will hear God’s Good News. Because I have full confidence in Christ that God, our Father in Heaven, is listening to these students and teacher’s prayers every time they lift them up. God will provide the way for this people group to hear and to have the Bible in their language.

But there are still about 109 Million people around the world who speak about 2000 languages who don’t even have 1 single verse in their languages. This is not fair! We have more than 20 version of Bible in English, but they don’t have even 1 word! We have to end it. They need God’s word. They need to hear about Jesus. They need to know who the true God is. So that they will come to trust in Jesus and worship God in His holy name!

But how will they hear? Where is our part in this plan bring them the Gospel?

Together we can end this spiritual poverty. Together we can END THE BIBLE POVERTY! I would like to encourage you to start praying. Pray ask God how he wants you to get involved and ask Him which area He put in your heart.

I will have my first New Testament in my first language in early 2014! That the most amazing news I ever had in my whole live! God speaks my language! I cannot wait to have it in my hand and to read it! This is the joy that I also want the other 109 million people to experience and to know. The joy we have in our Lord Jesus Christ when we can read and hear His life changing word in the language we can understand best in our hearts.

This is why we join Wycliffe Bible Translators, to go to Southeast Asia. This is the reason why we do what we do. This is why I want to meet you, talk with you and share with you what God has put in our hearts for these people groups in Southeast Asia. Life’s Been Busy

Oh My! I didn’t realize that it’s been a couple of months I haven’t posted anything.

It has been a quite busy months for us. We have been on road trips to visit friends and family for sharing what God has been doing in our lives and about Wycliffe.

We are so excited to go!

I am trying to find time to post more about our adventures, journey with God and what is happening with Wycliffe in all around the world. YES! God is working in people’s hearts, He is opening ways for those who don’t have the Word to have the Word.

We are so thankful God has provided the needs and time for us to go visiting friends and families in North Carolina, Georgia and Alabama from June 7th through June 16th. This can be done only because of God’s grace, love and mercy.

We even are celebrating our 5th Anniversary on the trip 😀 (hey! it’s today! LOL!) I never stop thanking God for my wonderful husband, Dave. We have gone through these sweet, wonderful and challenging 5 years and more amazing years to go through together with God. It’s all from Him and for Him!

I’ll be back with some pictures and stories soon after we get home on June 18th!

Please be praying for us! THANK YOU SO MUCH for all your support!
