Allow Beauty To Fill Your Days

I got the 3 sets of new Tim Holtz Distress Crayons were on sale at Blitsy a couple of weeks ago. And today, I had a chance to create a card using some of the colors.

Allow Beauty To Fill Your Days

There are some videos tutorial and reviews on YouTube about these Distress Crayons. I learned one of the easiest way of using them is to scribble some on the craft mat and pick it up with brush.

I use Unity Stamp Co. – February 2016 Kit Of The Month. First, I cut a 4.25″ x 5.5″ Canson Watercolor Paper and stamping the flower using Memento Black Ink using my MISTI and dried the ink using Craft Heater (CTMH).

On the Craft Mat (Ken Oliver), I scribbled some of the Distress Crayons and added some water using the Aquash Waterbrush (Pentel). And I started to colored the image using the brush. I cleaned the brush each time I changed color.

Using the Craft Heater I speed up the drying to make the card 😉 The sentiment I used is also from the same Unity KOTM I stamped with Black Memento Ink Pad.

I found a pretty yellow paper in my stash that I used as the background that matched with the color of the flower. Using adhesive runner, I added the pattern paper, watercolor paper and sentiment strip on the card base.

My card is finisned and I love it! I hope you like it, too 🙂 Thank you for visiting today!

  1. Very pretty card! The stamped flowers are gorgeous and I think the Distress Crayons create a lovely effect. Fab LIM entry!

  2. What a beautiful card, Helen. I love that image and you have obviously got the hang of the distress crayons very quickly…I am very tempted! Great to see you at Less Is More 🙂

  3. A pretty card Helen and you used the distress crayons so effectively. The image may possibly have stood out even more if it had been matted onto white cardstock. It is a delightful card though as it is. Thank you for joining us at Less is More.
