Winter 2017 Coffee Loving Blog Hop Day 1: Warmest Christmas Cocoa

Winter and Hot Cocoa are perfect match, don’t you agree with me? 🙂 On this card today, I am featuring the Christmas Cocoa stamp set from Joy Clair, one of the Super Sponsors.

I found a green/creme plaid paper in my stash that I used for the background. Then I created a wash of watercolored background using the Real Brush pen and die-cut it with the Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies from STAMPlorations, also a Super Sponsor for this blog hop. I used 2 sizes of dies to create the frame.

I added the plaid paper on the white card base and then added the frame on top of it.

I stamped the sentiment on a white cardstock with Memento Rich Cocoa ink, die-cut it using one of the Rectangles Dies from Our Daily Bread Designs, who is also a Super Sponsor. I added some ink around the edges with sponge and then added it on the card with adhesive.

CLC Joy Clair Winter Blog Hop Day 1

I stamped and heat embossed the images with glitter embossing powder. I did it twice to get the thicker look on the embossing images. And then watercolor them with Arteza Real Brush Pens. Because I heat embossed all the images, the watercolor paint is resist. I fussy cut them with micro-tip scissors.

I added the cup with adhesive and then added the cookie on top of it with 3D foam tape. And that’s my card for today! I hope you all like it and inspired to play along with the Winter Coffee Lovers blog hop and link up party this week!

Before you go…. how about a chance to win a second $25 gift card to Joy Clair Store???

  1. Another beautiful card! I love the colors you used and your metallic touches really make this magical! This reminded me of wonderful holiday moments and I’m so glad you took the time to submit such an elegant piece to this week’s Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!

  2. Oh my, Helen! Two fabulous firsts for me on your card. First I’m sure your up close photo of the glitter embossing is the most successful I’ve seen in showing really bright sparkle! WOW! My eyes aren’t the best but the beautiful steam arising from the coffee is so delicate I thought for sure you had put a piece of lace in there. Now on top of those awesome techniques love the cream color with the pine green color and shading. LOVE
